#Linux deprecates a.out support

"Linux supports ELF binaries for ~25 years now. a.out coredumping has bitrotten quite significantly and would need some fixing to get it into shape again but considering how even the toolchains cannot create a.out executables in its default configuration, let's deprecate a.out support and remove it a couple of releases later, instead."

I should start a blog where I tell the truth, like the earth is round or people went on the moon, but it sounds like a conspiracy theory so conspiracy therorists would actually begin to believe it

For real Celine Dion sounds like she's extremely busy and kinda stuck in Vegas doing her stuff but she still manages to find some time to sing for whatever collab in Quebec that supports a noble cause, she doesn't look she's got swollen with her celebrity like the 3/4 of the other celebrities in her position (well, most of the time), this is why I love this woman

Happy women's day, hope you get to be like her when you end up famous

I need to plan something for π day and April's Fools but I forgot what ideas I had

So apparently in Javascript 1.2 and earlier getYear() was sensible enough to give the year as a 2 or 4-digit number, but then Mozilla switched to the current year minus 1900, therefore *introducing* a Y2K bug instead of fixing it

I need to check if it worked around IE5.5 or IE6, which is most likely what I was using back then

So there you go I debugged a 15-year-old bug I never bothered to figure out until now, thanks for reading

Oh boy, Wasabi increased their pricing and I've been grandfathered in the old pricing

You know your technical explanation on YouTube is getting serious when the Super Mario 64 File Select theme starts playing

I did nothing productive today

I hate myself

(but I don't)

I'm pretty glad I have my own instance in the fediverse, but think of everyone in all of these situations:

- Don't have any technical know-how on how to run a Linux server
- Can't buy an instance on masto.host, or they don't know they could do that
- Not part of any community yet

They'll just naturally pick one of the biggest ones, as in most likely the flagship instance run by the dev himself.

I guess the best you can do is to encourage these people to switch instances and join yours.

Thinking of that calc.news looks more like a cute but techy catgirl community than the calc news I setup this instance for

All according to plans...

So I missed some drama today Show more

It's been like over a year I'm with them and this company still has their 32 GB RAM VPS on promo at 10.79€ instead of 32.99€ lol

Hello social website that is arguably better than the other ones

This instance is mainly for the graphic calculator community, but is open to programmers, artists and related fields.

This is an instance for those who used to put games and hack on their TI-83+ instead of actually doing their math homework on it back in high school. Those who picked up programming because it's fun. Those who will put their favourite programming languages to creative uses and maybe make up new ones. You are encouraged to show your projects off on this instance and show other users of the fediverse what you're able of.

Mostly everything is allowed, but just keep it friendly, okay? No abuse, use common sense. We're just a bunch of nerds here. All hail the mighty walrus.
